Build KD Tree
Medium · Solved in Python · Machine learning coding practice
Problem
A KD tree is a binary search tree that organizes \(k\)-dimensional points by recursively partitioning space with axis-aligned hyperplanes. To ensure balance, each node selects the median point of a rotating dimension as the subroot, creating approximately equal-sized subtrees. This structure optimizes multidimensional operations, such as nearest neighbor search, by efficiently pruning the search space.
